Cincinnati Cyclones: Fun for everyone (including the kids) at Heritage Bank Center!

Cyclones vs Kalamazoo book photos 11-27-19 (1 of 1)-98

When you think of sports in Cincinnati, you think the Reds, the Bengals, even the UC Bearcats.  But did you know we have a hockey team too?  Our Cincinnati Cyclones are a top-notch team and a game is the perfect evening out for the whole family!

Since 1990, the Cincinnati Cyclones have been playing hockey all over the country and in Canada; they are the AA team of the National Predators. Eighteen of their players have gone on to play for the NHL, which makes our Cyclones a hotbed of talent that’s exciting to watch.

Coming to a game at the Heritage Bank Center is more than just a hockey experience: it’s the complete package of great fun, great food and great times.  There’s music, promotions and fun half-time activities (think hamster balls and sumo suits!), so even if you aren’t a hockey fan, there’s plenty to enjoy.  Games always have a fun theme, such as Superheroes, Star Wars and Nickelodeon Character nights, and promotions include $1 beer night, $1 hot dog night, kids eat free and more.  Special fundraising nights are featured as well, along with Military Appreciation Nights. There are also cancer awareness nights that mix philanthropy and fun. The atmosphere at a Cyclones game is always charged up with excitement and exuberance.

On February 1, the Cyclones will present the Frozen 5K &10K, a unique winter race that takes you on a course along the Banks of the Ohio River and through Cincinnati’s Transit Center underneath Second Street! Join Twister, Puckchop, and thousands of other brave souls as we achieve our New Years resolutions and support the Cincinnati Cyclones Foundation in the process!

A Cyclones game is also a great place to celebrate birthdays!  Check out their package options at www.cycloneshockey.com.

When you want more than just a sports experience on a night out – when you’re looking for sports, fun, music, food and an atmosphere of excitement – come to a Cincinnati Cyclones game at the Heritage Bank Center.

The pros & cons of listing your home in the winter

image0

Despite homes being covered in snow and icy roads galore, winter is a great time to sell your home! Or is it? Just like with any season, there are pros and cons to selling your home. If you’ve been contemplating whether you should list your home now or wait until the snow melts away, we made a list of everything you should take into consideration.

Pros

1. Buyers mean business

While more buyers are looking in the spring and summer, there are more serious buyers in the winter season. If someone is making time to visit open houses and showings during the busiest time of the year (and the coldest time of the year) they are more likely to be serious about their search.

2. Less competition

Most people will wait until spring to list their home. This means the housing inventory is much lower in the winter, leaving less competition for sellers.

3. Online house hunting is year-round

As Dave Ramsey says, “the internet has no seasons.” Since most people would rather be cozied up on the couch in the winter, making sure your home has a good online presence is very important. Most buyers will start their search online before in person. In fact, 93% of people use the internet in their home search, according to NAR.

4. More time off = more time for buying

You might think that being the busiest time of the year that people would be too busy to stop by and look at your house. But, people tend to take more time off work around the holidays leaving more time to search for their new home. The three-day weekends in January are also popular weekends for open houses and showings.

Cons

1. Curb appeal is limited

When the sun sets at 4 PM and your beautiful lawn is covered by snow, it’s a lot harder to show off your home’s exterior. Although you can add some festive decor like a wreath to your door, you can’t show off any of the hard work you’ve put into your curb appeal.

2. Buyers have limited budgets

As we wrap up the end of the year, a lot of people are tied up with other financial obligations such as holiday gifts and traveling, paying taxes, and making sure their own houses and vehicles are winter-ready. This may cause a lot of buyers to not want to invest in a home at this time of year.

3. Fewer offers for less

Sellers tend to find themselves with multiple offers in spring and summer when buyers have more competition and need to be quick to make offers. In the winter, it’s less likely that sellers will have multiple offers. Buyers may even think that winter sellers are desperate for any offer at all, causing them to lowball their offers.

4. “Show-ready” means more effort

You know that one friend who always makes you take your shoes off before walking through the house? Well, you may find yourself being that person now… To keep your home show-ready during the winter, you’ll need to minimize the amount of snow and slush people bring through the door and will need to keep up with putting away the wrapping paper and holiday prepping that you’re doing yourself. You’ll also end up plowing the driveway and sidewalks for visitors more often.

Whether you’re ready to brave it out in the snow and sell or snuggle up until spring and wait, we’ll be here when you’re ready.

The transformation to Heritage Bank Center has begun!

image2

The historic venue has played a major role in the memories of Cincinnatians for over 40 years. Whether a first concert or sharing an event with family, friends, or a loved one, the venue on The Banks has provided the background for these cherished moments. Opening in September of 1975, the venue has played host to a who’s who of artists including Paul McCartney, Elvis Presley, Garth Brooks, James Brown, Celine Dion, Elton John, Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, AC/DC, Bob Seger, Queen, Marvin Gaye, The Eagles, Michael Jackson, and Pink Floyd. In addition, the venue hosts a wide variety of non-concert events such as the WWE, Disney on Ice, Monster Jam, and more. The facility is also home to the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones and played host to the Kelly Cup-clinching games in 2008 and 2010.

“We are proud to partner with Heritage Bank to create new memories together for the Cincinnati market,” said Nederlander Entertainment COO Ray Harris. “As Heritage Bank continues to grow and increase the prosperity of the communities where they operate, we look forward to introducing the bank to more people who call Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky home. We were thrilled to find such an engaged and complementary fit for our naming rights and will work with them to achieve unique and integrated activations throughout our facility. We are excited to begin this new era of Cincinnati entertainment as Heritage Bank Center.”

“As a locally owned and operated independent community bank committed to the development of this region, Heritage Bank understands the unique history and location of this facility,” said Heritage Bank Chairman Chris Caddell. “We also believe in its future. As communities along both banks of the Ohio River continue to invest in the development of a dynamic entertainment and cultural core, look for the Heritage Bank Center to be front and center, attracting the widest variety of events with the power to draw people from this region and beyond.”

Heritage Bank was founded 29 years ago by a group of local businesspeople alarmed about the shrinking access to community banks able and eager to respond to regional consumer and business banking needs. Now serving Greater Cincinnati through 19 branches, the bank remains a family-owned institution, already grooming the third generation of leadership. In an age of ongoing consolidation, Heritage Bank is resolute about remaining an independent bank, rooted in the communities where we operate.
