Great Night Every Night
An Irish pub should be what an Irish pub is; a friendly neighborhood gathering place. That’s what Josh and Paul at Molly Malone’s say and that is exactly what Molly Malone’s is; an authentic Irish pub. This friendly establishment is located at the foot of the Roebling Bridge in Roebling Point in Covington, Kentucky; right across the river from the stadiums. But don’t worry; even if you’re not from the neighborhood you will be welcomed as if you were.
They have a large selection of Irish whiskey and Scotch as well as 28 craft and import beers on tap including one the most famous Irish Stouts, Guinness which originated in Dublin, Ireland. The food is also great; they have authentic traditional fare like fish and chips which goes great with a pint of Guinness. After a night at Molly’s come back for brunch and have a traditional Irish breakfast.
Every night Molly Malone’s has something fun happening. For the past four years every Monday evening the Blue Grass Jam Session plays. If you play you can even sit in on the session. On Tuesday nights Roger Drawdy plays all the old Irish Ballads and Rebel songs. They also offer Texas Hold’em on Tuesdays. Wednesday nights is Pop Quiz night where teams compete for a $500 prize. It’s been called the hardest, makes-you-feel-stupid-but-you-keep-going-back-to-try-to-prove-you-aren’t trivia nights. Thursday Night Social has Tao Jonez spinning billboard and favorites. Friday and Saturday nights are alive with action on all three floors; from swing dancing to live acts. Sunday nights end your weekend with Karaoke with DJ Will Corson.
Not only can you have a great night at Molly Malone’s but you can have a great night and help others. Molly Malone’s has several charitable events that they host including The Mark & Friends Present featuring Jesse and the Ripoffs, The Last Troubadour, Wolf in the Fold and Mark Moore. Tickets are $10 and all profits benefit booksforkids.org.
